Christy Gilbert began dancing at the age of three and has loved every minute of her constantly evolving career. At the age of seven, with encouragement from her teacher, Kerry Smith, Christy transitioned her focus to ballet at Boston Ballet School's Intensive Division. She has been granted opportunities to dance and study with many great artists, which include Laura Young, Suki Schorer, Tatiana Gennadievna, and Mikhail Baryshnikov. After dancing and performing for a decade with Boston Ballet, Christy changed paths to attend college, however, quickly found herself using her ballet expertise to teach technique classes for Springfield college and local competitive studios. Since 1999, Christy has taught students of all ages and levels in California and Massachusetts. She feels deeply about sharing her years of knowledge and experience with her students. Christy believes highly in developing dancers with strong ballet technique.
My name is Kaitlyn Saulnier and I am so excited to join the team at Masters! I am 22 years old, and I recently graduated from Stonehill College with a BA in Performing Arts and a minor in Dance. I danced and competed for 14 years before college, and at Stonehill I took classes in tap, jazz, ballet, choreography, and dance history. Outside of class I was involved in Stonehill's Dance Club where I took tap and hip hop classes and co-choreographed our senior pieces, as well as Stonehill's Musical Theatre Club where I served as assistant choreographer. Outside of Stonehill I have taken classes at Pineapple Dance Studios in London, UK where I studied hip hop and Contemporary Jazz.
Kerry Smith is a world-class choreographer with a style all her own. She is best known for her dance studio in Norwood (the Academy of Dance Arts) where her studio trained and inspired hundreds of children for over twenty-five years. The Between Space Studio is the former Academy of Dance Arts and inside is an entire wall filled with former students who have gone on to make an impact in the Dance industry. Some former students are still dancing with Travis Wall's Shaping Sound and Jessica Lang Dance Company. Kerry's passion in dance has never wavered. Her attention to technique, expression, and detail is what makes her one of the best choreographers New England has to offer.
